Clevedon Coast Open Day 2008

Our product showcase on the 11th of May was a great success and a chance to try out some new recipes on the public!

Along with Clevedon Coast Oysters, other products from The Coromandel Smoking Co, Delking and Jasper were also showcased.

It was an excellent chance for the public to meet the people behind the products and sample the first oysters of the premium cooler conditions.

New One Dozen Pack in Production.

Clevedon Coast have begun production of a new 1 Dozen Frozen Half Shell Oyster pack for export product. The pack, developed in collaboration with Magus Design Limited especially for Clevedon Coast product, is a novel combination of a blister tray, a wrap around printed sheet and shrink wrapping. The three elements combine to form an attractive, strong and hygenically sealed pack that is easily assembled. The packs are currently being exported to Egypt, Italy and French Polynesia.

Supplying oysters frozen has long been a standard for export product. The Clevedon Coast factory's proximity to the oyster farms have enabled the company to develop this premium product. With time from harvest to freezing kept to a minimum, the freshness of recently defrosted product is second only to oysters comsumed fresh on the day of harvest.

The company has moved with the new pack to emphasize the brand, Clevedon Coast Oysters, and the country of origin, New Zealand. New Zealand oysters are among the best in the world owing to water quality, hygiene standards and the methods of farming.
